I am going through the ‘diagnosis’ stage right now, on antibiotics (just in case) and mammogram with diagnotic ultrasound tomorrow morning. I will be seeing a breast surgeon on Friday for a needle biopsy -to be sure, just in case. I am scared, but after seeing the video and the strong women (and the men behind them) that have gone before me – I have some hope. I am praying for mastitis, but know that I have ‘sisters’ in arms – to help me through this…

Dear Friend of the wonderful Dr. C. As you might know, he is up for an award. The committee will select from a few well deserving short list of candidates, by the stories patients send in to the address in this link. If you were treated by Dr. C, that will be easy. However some of you might have been touch by his IBC care via the video, “The IBC Project”. Most don’t know that the video was not an MD Anderson project but a private effort by Matthew Steinhart, Diana House and Terry Arnold. Dr. C and Dr. Wendy Woodward volunteered they time and expertise to be in the film for the great good of IBC patients who might be be able to come to MDA and also to give education to those who love someone attacked by IBC. So if you have been a patient of Dr. C, please write, but also if you watched the video, or have a friend who was assisted due to the video, that is one more way to let the cancer world know why we think Dr C should be the honoree of this award.

This is a fantastic production and something all women should watch. Knowledge and awareness are the first steps in conquering this frightening disease.

This was a great video! I am all too familiar with IBC, having been diagnosed with stage IV in 2004. I am approaching my 7 year survival mark and I am so grateful that I have a team of well educated doctors who diagnosed this immediately. Had I been misdiagnosed as Terry was, I surely would not be here today. Thanks for creating this wonderful video. I will be using some of the data in a presentation I am giving this evening about IBC. Just like it is suggested in the video, I hope I raise awareness about this rare, yet aggressive form of breast cancer.

I really loved the video. I think the humor and silliness at the beginning prepares the viewer for the sting of the sad ending. I am fairly new to this journey – diagnosed October 2010 and currently receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy at Fox Chase in northern Philadelphia. This video halped me get some good information and more importantly more hope. Thank you.
