| Rep. Carolyn McCarthy Introduces Bill to Raise Awareness of Inflammatory Breast Cancer
$ 7. 5 Million from American Airlines, via Susan G. Komen for IBC Research at M.D. Anderson's IBC Clinic....
We, The Inflammatory Breast Cancer Foundation, would like to welcome you to our place on the giant cosmos of the Internet Highway as we keep you up to date on all the breaking news on IBC, in the United States and the world. We hope you stay for awhile and find out who we are, and what our mission is going forward.
We are here to educate the general public and the world, plus unfortunately many in the medical community, that there is a deadly form of breast cancer that WE are not told to look for.
We hope that through these pages you will better understand:
What.. Inflammatory Breast Cancer is, (known also as IBC).
What.. The common symptoms are (which many times appear sometimes overnight): a swollen breast, a painful breast, incessant itchy breast, a rash on one breast or what may look like a bug bite that won't go away with creams or ointments, or an inflamed breast sometimes overnight. That if one course of antibiotic doesn't work, demand that your doctor rule out IBC.
That.. Inflammatory Breast Cancer can appear overnight, without warning.
Things. You need to know: Mammograms usually don't pick up IBC because normally there is no lump that women are told to look for.
Why.. Doctors misdiagnose Inflammatory Breast Cancer as mastitis.
Why.. We need to push this message across the country.
The IBC Foundation, with it's coalition of strong voices can advocate for "appropriate research" in the field of diagnosing and treating this under-reported disease.
Join us in our crusade to tell everyone you come in contact with, there is a breast cancer we are not told about. Help us spread the word so that no woman says, "I didn't know there was another type of breast cancer" and "what is Inflammatory Breast Cancer?"
You could save someone's life.
Thank you for visiting, and please share your thoughts in our guest book. We are here to help.
